No chapter of "love" would be complete without a trick from Nick, the Rob Lower of high society. Nick had some special calling cards printed with his name and phone number. Underneath in big letters, it read "Smile if you'd like a date." He used to present the card to a prospect, and watch as she'd try to hold back the laughter. It was corny, but Nick has the right kind of charisma to pull it off.
The back of the card was printed "Rip this card in two if you're not interested." The zinger was that it was on untearable paper. Some stationers sell envelopes made of this material. It is easy to recognize because it has strands of fiberglass embedded in it. If you want to emulate Nick's ploy, you could cut the cards from this stock, and type the message on. Good luck!
